CURRENTLY, WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING ANY SUBMISSIONS.
Thank you for your interest in Carry You Away – We’re always interested in hearing new and upcoming bands from all over, but there are a couple of guidelines that I would like to hammer out first.
1 – All submissions must be accompanied by an public and postable mp3 for use with a post. This helps drive traffic to the site, but it also aggregates CYA over to Hypem.com, a large directory that allows people to listen to numerous blog sites. Any submission without this won’t be considered. We also like physical copies of albums to review, as we’re not always around the computer.
2- All submissions must also be accompanied by a cover sheet that outlines that band’s bio and background information. This helps when writing, and we’d greatly appreciate knowing about their album history and general reception. A press photograph is also helpful.
3 – Please keep in mind that there is a lot of bands out there, and that because of the large volume, we won’t get to everything. We do listen to just about everything, and if we like what we hear, we’ll be in touch. If you don’t hear back from us, it means one of a couple things: either we don’t like what we hear or we don’t think it will be a good fit for the site. These things happen, but don’t take it to heart: we’re just one of many sites out there.
4- Our reviews are honest. We typically post up what we really like, but that doesn’t mean that everything that we post is perfect. Thus, we’ll be critical of your image, your sound, quality and songwriting. Reviews tend to run around 350 words.
